[This will be expanded in the future. It is a comment from this Novus Ordo Watch article: Encounter: New Sculpture Installed In Vatican Gardens Fails To Surprise. We think it weighty enough to deserve its own page, especially as there will be more to write on this subject].

There is a whole 'pseudo theology' behind the "encounter" phenomenon Prevost and other apostates are so fond about. At the baseline, it is as though 'being good' consists of 'movement (or existence) with no conflict', and without regard for what is true. How to define this.
It is the opposite of the ‘mission’ of the Gospel. ‘Encounter’ is merely a mode of passivity; instead of preaching the Word of God, one becomes in proximity to another. Now this proximity is necessary to preach, but in Prevostian terms the mere ‘encounter’ is enough; for something. But what ?
It is not about salvation or forgiveness or finding out what is true. It is ‘creation by participating in existence’. This can only be understood as one sees it with circular logic. ‘Encounter’ is like an affirmation of existence, which is made eternal by the fact, and one is saved from non-existence by participating with another in existence; this is, as opposed to salvation, a kind of ‘mutual creation’. It’s almost Teilhardian, or maybe it is, but aside from excluding God as Creator from the equation of existence, it perfectly encapsulates the modernists’ ultimate doctrine, which I not so fondly refer to as “the false god, equality”. Indeed this circular ‘mutual creation/affirmation’ is the most perfect expression of this error, as the ‘encounter’ does not denote a movement from one to another, such as found in preaching the truth, but in a kind of static proximity. With no movement, there cannot be conflict, which wraps around back to the initial point, but not with circular logic.
Since they are so fond of equality they ought to look at the Trinity, in which the three Persons are equal in one substance as God and yet distinct.
